Fujitsu Scanners--These scanners are the best all around workhorses we've found for the money:

Fujitsu 5120c and 5530c--For general purpose scanning. Excellent, small foot-print, duplex scanners, handling 25+ pages per minute at a fraction of the cost of other duplex scanners.  These also scan insurance cards and driver's licenses as well. 

   Fits easily on any desk...

Card Scanners--For scanning insurance cards and driver's licenses we use a small USB scanner (shown below).
